Memory Care: Discover the Difference with The Village Program®
December 11, 2025
The challenges presented by memory loss can be difficult to navigate, finding the right support can make all the difference. At Grace Management Inc. communities, we offer a higher standard of memory care specialized for those struggling with cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our Village Program® offers personalized Memory Care programming that engages residents in a vibrant lifestyle filled with activities that may reflect their former schedules, lifestyles, and interests, while helping them feel safe and appreciated. Through enriching experiences and meaningful relationships with our residents, we create shared moments of comfort and joy.
WHAT IS MEMORY CARE?
Long-term Memory Care communities are uniquely dedicated to serving those struggling from cognitive decline, including those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Within these specialized communities, residents enjoy comfortable private or semi-private suites and receive personal care from associates who are thoughtfully trained to support those experiencing cognitive decline. Residents are encouraged to join in meaningful, structured activities created to assist those with memory loss. Activities are customized to match the resident’s personal rhythms, abilities, interests, and preferences.
WHAT IS MEMORY CARE VS ASSISTED LIVING?
Similar to Assisted Living, residents living within a Memory Care community receive help with daily tasks, such as dressing, eating, bathing, walking, and social activities. In these specialized long-term care communities, team members complete comprehensive training focusing on Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, daily living support, behavioral analysis, and effective communication strategies. The level of education and training within The Village Program helps shape the relationships between caregivers and residents in our specialized Memory Care neighborhoods. By meeting each resident where they are, and honoring who they are as individuals, our teams create supportive days filled with purpose, comfort, and meaningful connection.
WILL PROGRAMMING ACTIVITIES HELP MY LOVED ONE STAY ENGAGED?
The Village Program® offers a person-centered memory care approach, built around each resident’s unique story, strengths, and needs. Daily activities, experiences, and engagement are shaped by personal history, interests, and abilities, helping each resident reflect on past accomplishments, celebrate meaningful moments, and renew their spirit each day. With a purposeful yet familiar rhythm of activities, residents enjoy days filled with connection, comfort, and enrichment designed to support cognitive function and foster a sense of belonging. Through this approach, The Village Program creates meaningful days that encourage purpose, joy, and connection within a calm and supportive environment.
IS A LONG-TERM CARE COMMUNITY SAFE FOR MY LOVED ONE?
Living alone, whether in a single-family home or in an Independent Living apartment, can become increasingly more challenging for someone with dementia, especially as the condition progresses. To offer a sense of security for both residents and their families, Memory Care communities provide enhanced safety, supported by purposeful design elements, and 24-hour caregiver presence. The specialized setting of a Memory Care community can help bring peace of mind to you and your loved one.
HOW DO I BEGIN THE CONVERSATION WITH MY LOVED ONE?
The challenges presented by memory loss can be difficult to navigate, but we are here to remind you that you are not alone in handling these potentially difficult conversations. Engaging in open, honest dialogue from the beginning sets the stage for a positive journey, and we are here to help every step of the way.
